In CAS genesisWorld you can prevent unauthorized access to data. The administrator can assign rights to users in the Management Console.
For more information, go to CAS Product Documentation.
Importing and exporting data in CAS genesisWorld for both individual and multiple data records can be done using any number of functions depending on the rights you have been granted.
The following functions are only possible if you have the necessary rights:
Printing data from CAS genesisWorld is a type of export, for example, if you have created cover letters for multiple addresses, labels, or lists and evaluations in report form which can be printed on paper or made available as a file. Consequently, rights are necessary to help manage these respective functions.
When creating form letters or label prints, address data are saved in a file via Microsoft Word and can then be processed further independent from CAS genesisWorld. The corresponding right does not apply to e-mail campaigns as they are not created using Microsoft Word.
Using the notification and action service you can support and manage diverse processes. In the case of some specific changes to existing data records, you can change some data record fields automatically or create data records automatically. For new or changed data records, you can send e-mails automatically to certain users or addresses.
You administrator defines rules in the Management Console. Likewise, rules with the same functions can be changed or created by users who have sufficient rights to do so in the Management Console for the desktop client.
New actions allow users to change data record fields, add participants or link new data records. Users can define, save (to favorites) and carry out such actions.
For these actions, users be assigned the necessary rights by their administrator.
In CAS genesisWorld there is the Report data record type, on the one hand. This enables users to create a report, based on a report template, for the selected data records in a list or for particular data record. On the other hand, users can also create and view reports using the Report module.
Rights to reports are assigned to users in the Management Console by the administrator: first there is the right to the Report data record type and, second, there is the right to the Report module.
If a user who does not have sufficient rights to use the Reports button, clicks the button or calls the function via the Tools menu in list and data record windows, then nothing will happen. Instead, a message will appear informing you that no report templates are available for this data record type.
