Creating several e-mail accounts at once
You can change e-mail settings simultaneously for multiple selected user accounts or resources; to do so, open the Properties window after selecting the accounts or resources you wish to change.
In the following window you will see that only the tabs, functions and options are displayed for which you can change the settings for multiple user accounts or resources.
- Change e-mail address opens the Define e-mail addresses for multiple users window.
- You can define:
A prefix is optional, for example, an abbreviation for a department.
Select whether the User name or the Description is to be entered as e-mail address. The values are taken from the user account properties or the resource on the General tab.
Enter the part after the @ symbol.
- Select how you wish to replace special characters or spaces from the name or the description of the user account or resource.
Replacing special characters this includes settings which you can change.
The settings can be found in the MMKSubstitutionTable.txt file, in the ..\Client\Templates\ folder.
You can replace one character per row. The entry syntax is as follows: Source > Target.
If you do not enter anything in Replace spaces with, then the spaces will be removed.
E-mail account settings
- The Change e-mail account button opens the Configure the e-mail account for several users window.
The settings can be made analog for resources.
- If e-mail accounts are already entered for one or a number of users, you will receive a message. Select then either Ignore or Overwrite.
- The following settings are possible for e-mail accounts:
Account area
Select existing account as template: if you have already created e-mail accounts in CAS genesisWorld, you can select one of these accounts as template. The additional fields of the Configure the user e-mail account for several users window will be filled in with data from the template.
This option is only available if at least one e-mail account was set up for at least one of the selected users.
E-mail account name: enter the name for the e-mail account if you do not use an existing account as template.
You activate the Use as default account option if you want the e-mail account to be entered as Default account.
E-mail address area
E-mail address and Sender name: here you cannot make any changes for several users. For each user, an individual e-mail address must be entered.
User name and password area
Select Do not change existing accounts if accounts that already exist for this e-mail are to be maintained.
Logon name is the configuration for logging on to the e-mail server.
If you select Configured, the Define e-mail logon name for several users window opens. In this window, you define how your logon name is put together.
1. Enter a prefix.
2. Select E-mail address or User name.
3. Enter a suffix.

With replace with, you can define additional replacements and, for example, replace the space with user names with an underscore _ .
The Password cannot be changed if several users are selected.
The settings in the E-mail server information tab and in the Automatic update tab match the settings of the Desktop Client.
Additional settings
- Activate logging and Deactivate logging refers to the respective settings in the Settings for Internet logging window for an e-mail account.
- The settings for invitation management are the same for both single and multiple user accounts.
