Access rights

In the User Management area, you define which owner and external access rights to data records can be set by users.

Go to the User Management area and then the Access rights folder.

The settings are valid for the Desktop Client, the Web Client, the Mobile Apps and teamWorks. The settings do not apply to the displayed access rights in the Management Console. As administrator, you can still define all available rights.

Rights for data records

The following access rights are mandatory and cannot be deactivated here: Personal, Read and Full rights.

Settings in the Access rights folder also apply to the administrator user.

The setting does not apply to general external access rights of data records. For those rights, all available rights can be set, also if you restrict the displayed data. You as administrator can define the general external access in the Management Console.

Activating external access

The general external access right to data records of a user are defined in the user properties in the External access tab.

If the Activate external access option is not enabled here in the folder, then none of the other external access rights settings will apply.

Users can also define the external access settings in the Desktop Client if you as administrator have granted the respective rights in the External access ... tabs. The settings in the Desktop Client and in the Management Console overwrite each other. The last setting always applies.

Show participants for confidential appointments and jobs

Other users will be able to see private or confidential appointments in their calendars but will not be able to access them, they are marked with *No access*.

This setting applies to appointments and jobs only, not to other activities that can be displayed in the calendar.

If a user is not a participant of this data record, this user will only be able to see the time this appointment is scheduled.

If a user points his mouse to such an appointment/job, the participants of the respective data record are displayed. To be able to see the participants, users need to be granted external access rights to one of the participants.

With 3 options you can select whether you wish to display participants and if so, which ones you wish to display.

If an overlap warning occurs with a confidential appointment, all participants with an overlap are displayed.
