If desired, e-mails can be saved in local folders to increase performance and for working in offline mode.
Usually, other folders can be used at ..\%APPDATA%\CAS genesisWorld\E-Mail\, depending on the e-mail account and depending on the user who is logged on to Windows.
The selected folder can be adjusted. In that way, e-mails can be saved centrally in the company and these e-mails can be accessed via the network. Then the data must not be saved by each user individually, but can be saved centrally.
Before locally saving the e-mails on the computer, the Desktop Client checks the correct path in the Windows Registry.
A registry key must be entered for a personal path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CAS-Software\Genesis\1.0\Settings
If a folder is entered in the network, the following applies:
The path for each user should consist of a uniquely protected folder which only the respective user can access.
The performance can be influenced negatively if e-mails are saved in the net. Locally saved e-mails can usually be accessed faster.
Locally saved e-mails are Windows files. Inconsistencies may occur if several clients access these files at the same time and the integrity of these files may be corrupted.
If these files can no longer be accessed, an error is written to the error log. To enable CAS genesisWorld to build up these files again, the affected files must be first deleted manually.
