Change log tab

The tab works the same way with all data record types. All changes made to the active data record are logged in the list.

Data records combine various related information. Each data record can be identified easily by means of a key or name. The Maier address data record contains all information on the customer Maier, including first name, last name, postal address, and so on. The Software introduction product contains a unique number, a price, a description, and so on.

Data record types are data records of a kind in CAS genesisWorld, for example, addresses, tasks, appointments, documents, and so on.

The Change log tab is only displayed if the administrator has assigned you the required rights; the same applies if you want to undo changes. Only then, will you be able to undo changes.

The person who administers CAS genesisWorld is the administrator. The administrator creates user accounts and assigns rights so that you as a registered user can log on to CAS genesisWorld.

The administrator also configures CAS genesisWorld, which involves arranging lists, forms, menus, navigators and all the pages in CAS genesisWorld according to your company's requirements.

The appearance of CAS genesisWorld (i.e. colors and images) is also defined by the administrator.

Changes that were undone are logged as well. The typical functions of a list view are available, e.g. sorting columns.

The Distribution list tab logs when addresses are added or removed to or from a distribution list.

You can restrict the data record changes displayed on the tab using the Filter by field drop-down list.

Functions

Display new value or Display old value displays the respective value with existing formats in the editor of the Notes field.

Display details opens the Change window where changes are displayed in detail. Values cannot be changed in this window.

Display changes to links displays whether links for this data record have been deleted or whether new links have been created.

Links cannot be undone in the Change log tab. If you double-click the respective row in the Change log, the linked data record is opened. Then delete the respective link.

Copy: When you click Copy in the shortcut menu all the entries made to the tab are copied to the clipboard and can, for example, be copied to a Microsoft Word document.
