Individual search options

Search options allow you to define settings which may return better search results. There are more search options available for addresses than the other data record types.

Click the Select participants button in the Search window.

The default is always the Search all data records which can be accessed option. You can change this setting anytime.

To speed up the search, do not include public data records: remove the All (public) user as participant.

When using the phonetical search, the search results are displayed as follows: first, the 100% matches are displayed and the search results are colored in the list. And then all similar results are displayed. The results and the two blocks are sorted according to the criteria set in the view format in the Sorted by field.

Alternatively, you can temporarily change the list and, for example, sort it by any field. The color highlighting of the 100% hits will remain.

Your administrator can set up the phonetic search according to the Kölner Phonetik method or the Soundex method.

If you are searching for numbers, for example, postal codes and you want to use the Phonetic search using the Kölner Phonetik method, then your search will not yield anything useful. This is because numbers in search terms are ignored using the Kölner Phonetik method.
