Refreshing data records
In order to refresh existing data records you define one field as Key field.
The key field must be a unique field, for example, the GGUID field.
If you define a key field in the Column allocation window, you should set the Conflict management when a data record is updated option on the Edit settings page.
Key field functions
- It will first be checked whether the specified key field really is unique.
- During the import the database is searched for data records that match the specified key field.
- When a data record with the same key field is found, the corresponding data is updated along with the imported data.
- In case of conflicts, your input for conflict handling is taken into consideration.
- If no data record with an identical key field is found, this data record is newly created.
- If the key field is not unique or duplicates of the data record already exist in the database, the data record is not updated.
Notes
The unique GGUID field is also exported together with the data record. You cannot assign a target column to this field when importing.
This field is only recognized if you use capital letters.
