Tree view/View tab
The properties of the Tree view can be defined in the Properties window of this view. Open the View tab.
In the Tree tab of a data record window, you open the corresponding window by clicking the Settings button.
- Activate Display notes if you want to display the notes of the selected data record in a separate area.
- Go to the Expand to drop-down list to select the hierarchy level up to which you want to open the displayed branches of a tree.
- Commonly, data records are grouped by data record types. You display, for example, all tasks that belong to a job, then all appointments to the same job, and so on. Activate the Sort entire tree chronologically option to sort your data records chronologically. The current data record of a hierarchy level is displayed at the top.
The set sort order is ignored for all data record types, except addresses.
- The Display contact person when opening the tree view option is available in an address tree and a tree view of companies.
- Activate the checkbox next to a data record type if you want to display this data record in the tree view.
Displaying a data record
Define for each data record type which fields you want to display in the tree.
- Tick the checkbox with the data record type, for example, address.
- Use the arrows to move the fields from the Available fields list to the Selected fields list. The selected fields are displayed in the respective data record type.

To change the order of the selected fields, use the buttons below the Selected fields list.
Sorting of displayed data records
The displayed data records can be displayed sorted by field values. This sort order does not have to match the fields that you have selected for the display of the data record type.
- Select the row with the data record type. You can set an individual sort order for each data record type.
The current sort order of a data record type with fields and sort direction is displayed below the Sorting button.
- Click the Sorting button.
- The Sorting button opens a window. In this window, you can display all fields of a data record type in the Available fields list. Move the fields by which you want to sort the data records in the tree to the right list.
- The data is usually sorted in ascending order. Select a field and click on the Descending button. The corresponding field is then marked with (descending) in the list.
Saving the settings
View settings in the navigator or for a data record type can be easily transferred if you save the profile.
- When you click Save active profile a window opens, in which you can save the displayed settings under a name of your choice.
- Load saved profile opens a window. When you load a profile, you adopt the saved settings for displaying a tree.
