A link (hyperlink) is a unique reference to an Internet page, which is displayed, for example, in the address row of the browser.
Links to an Internet page, in a program, a document, an e-mail, and so on, can be displayed as underlined texts, buttons or pictures.

These references use URLs (Uniform Resource Locators): these are unique forms of identification for Internet pages. In other words, a URL is the file name of the internet page and the associated path, that is the location where the page can be found.
