Public elements can be created by the administrator. Users who do not have administrator rights can use, but not edit, public elements.
If a filter is used in the element, a filter condition can be defined to filter by the current user. Then the user who is currently logged on to CAS genesisWorld will see his or her data records when using the element.
Public elements can be given any name. The name is always appended with (public).
Users will see public elements when they select elements.
If you as user export a public element and re-import it later, this element is no longer public. Even users without administrator rights can then change this element. Any changes made by the administrator to the public element have no effect on this imported element.
The administrator can tick the Import as public element checkbox when importing elements, that is, administrators can import each element as public element.
Any changes made by the administrator to a public element are applied to elements used by users. If the administrator deletes a public element, then users will no longer be able to use this element.
Whether an element is public or not is decided when it is created; this setting cannot be changed at a later date.
