Personal e-mail accounts in public navigators

Public navigators can contain an e-mail view that automatically accesses the logged-on user's default e-mail account.

Important to know

You as administrator define in the Management Console, whether users can change pre-defined e-mail accounts or whether they can create own e-mail accounts.

Furthermore, the administrator defines whether a user is allowed to create and edit public navigators.

Examples

When a new employee in your company launches CAS genesisWorld, he or she will see the Autostart (public) navigator. The administrator will have already set up this user's default account in the Management Console. This means that as soon as this user logs on, he or she will have e-mail access.

Employees can create their own navigators. To do so, they simply need to save a public navigator under a different name. They can then add new views, change folders in the e-mail view, delete views they do not need, create e-mail views for other e-mail accounts, and so on.

The administrator may want to create a default public navigator for interns called Internship. Interns are not allowed to created their own navigators, but have a CAS genesisWorld e-mail account. Interns can access this default e-mail account via the navigator.

Employees in the ABC department are responsible for processing customer requests and are also allowed to create their own navigators. Each of the employees in this department will also have the ABC navigator as well as their own navigators. This additional navigator contains, for example, an e-mail view for customer requests. This allows all employees in the ABC department to process these customer requests.
