iCal
iCal is a standardized file format for the exchange of calendar data.
An iCal file has the .ics file extension.
Appointment data records can be exported, imported, or sent by e-mail as iCal from/to CAS genesisWorld.
Many other programs can also import or export iCal files. Thus, you can work with third-party calendar systems, for example, Microsoft Outlook. Appointments in iCal format can be downloaded and imported to CAS genesisWorld from the Internet, for example, international holidays or school holidays.
Please note
The import of iCal files that include a recurrence is not supported by CAS genesisWorld. If an iCal file containing an appointment series is exported from CAS genesisWorld, only the one selected appointment is exported to the iCal file. If you import a series, for example, from Microsoft Outlook to CAS genesisWorld, a hint is displayed.
You can import multiple appointments via iCal files.
You cannot export appointments via drag and drop if you are working in a month or year calendar view.
If you export multiple selected appointments, a separate file is created for each appointment.
If a whole day has been entered as the duration in the ICS or VCS file, a duration of 00:00 to 23:59 is entered in CAS genesisWorld.
The information on multiple participants that is displayed in CAS genesisWorld is not supported in iCal files. Thus, if a file is imported to CAS genesisWorld or Microsoft Outlook, only the current user is entered as an appointment participant.
Timezones are not supported.
