Examples

The following examples are based on the following scenario: CAS genesisWorld is deployed at two locations with different time zones. Both locations work with the same data and an Application Server which is based in Frankfurt.

Employee F works in Frankfurt, employee N works in New York.

• The CAS genesisWorld Client of employee F has set his or her time zone in the operating system and all his or her appointments are saved in the local time.
• The calendar times show the timeline of the current time zone.

Example 1

Employee F enters an appointment at 14:00 local time. The appointment is displayed at 14:00.

If employee N in New York sees this appointment of employee F in her calendar, this appointment will be displayed with the corresponding time difference, that is, at 9:00 – if the appointment is scheduled in German winter time.

Example 2

Employee F now creates a calendar view in which he displays his appointments and the appointments of employee N. Employee F displays the second time zone in his calendar (UTC -5:00) Eastern time (USA & Canada).

• The appointment is displayed at 14:00 local time, his local time.
• This appointment is displayed in the second time zone and employee N sees the appointment in his calendar with the corresponding time shift. Employee F sees the appointment at his local time thanks to the time zone ability.
