The default user
You can select a particular user as the default user for a portal. A user can then use this portal without having to log on themselves. If a user does not log on, then the default user's rights apply.
Enter a user with any name in the User Management area. Specify a password for this user.
- Set the desired rights for this user.
We recommend that you do not give this user any rights to the following data record types: Tasks, holidays and appointments. Assign the Read right to the following data record types: Addresses, projects and documents.
- Open then the Portal Management area.
- Select the portal in the navigator on the left.
- Click the Select default user link. The corresponding window opens. Select the user you have just created in the User management area. This user (and his or her rights) is then set as the default user.
- Active Allow access without logon.
The following applies to the default user:
- Multiple users can log on to the portal over the default user. The default user, however, only takes up license.
- Unlike with guest access, the default user also allows users to view public data records. You can of course also set the Guest access option for the default user.
- The default user cannot change settings such as the dashboard and cannot log off. He/she cannot access notifications.
- To define settings or customize the dashboard, an authorized user is able to log on using the default user's user name and password. Then the the dashboard, the settings, the portal monitor and the notifications can be accessed and the user is allowed to log off.
