Existing data record types are displayed in the Database area.
The names of data record types and fields which are delivered with the standard edition cannot be changed.
With the CAS genesisWorld Standard Edition, the following options for data record types and fields are available to you:
For teamWorks new data record type formulas are customized in the Portals area of the Management Console.
If you deploy the Form & Database Designer module, you can create any number of further data record types, customize the interfaces of data record windows, and define formulas for automatic functions and process support.
Changes made to data record types or fields are not instantly saved in the database. You can, for example, create several columns for one data record type or make changes during your work. Before you close the Management Console, you will be prompted to either apply or discard your changes.
The following buttons are only displayed if you have changed a data record type or a column.
Click Apply all changes in the toolbar above to save all changes both for data record types and for fields.
Click Adopt to save the currently selected data record type.
Click Discard to discard all changes to the currently selected data record type. The changes are not be saved in the database and undone.
When applying changes to columns, a window opens in which you can assign the Read and Change rights to the Standard user account as well as all other user accounts and groups.
The rights activated in this window are adopted on other domains if the replication is used. The user accounts and groups in other domains then receive the same rights as defined in this domain.
As always, the Administrator user account and other user accounts with administrator rights have full rights to new columns.
If you create a data record type or fields and other users are working in CAS genesisWorld, then depending on the circumstances, you may not be able to transfer the changes to the database. Such a block might be used if a user has opened a list view for a respective data record type.
As the administrator, you can lift this block and thus allow changes to the data model.
The Application Server is logged on to the database via an account. The account has to have been granted the Display server status and Change random links rights.
This user account has been entered on the Server registration tab in the Server Manager.
If these rights are not available and a block is in place, then a window will open in which you can log on to the Microsoft SQL Server and specify the locked table.
The logon is only used for this action.
