When e-mails are sent automatically, the system tries to send the e-mail again to a different e-mail address if the first sending effort fails.
If it is not possible to send an e-mail in which the Sender is defined by either the User who last changed the data record or the Enter a sender options, then the e-mail is sent using the e-mail address from the actions and notification service. The corresponds to the Do not change identity option.
This e-mail address is set on the Server settings tab in the Rules area of the Management Console.
In this case, the user's e-mail address is entered into the Reply to field of the message. This is not the case, if as a rule the Reply to option is enabled. Then the e-mail address which has been entered for this purpose, is entered into the Reply to field.
When changing a user's e-mail address in the User management area of the Management Console, future appointments can be declined which have been organized via invitation management.
For this a query window will open in which you will be asked: Should the previous, now invalid, e-mail address remain in the appointments or should declinations and new invitations be sent?
If declinations and new invitations are performed and the sending of this e-mail fails using the previous e-mail address, then the system will attempt to resend the e-mail via the user's default account.
If this resend now also fails, then the e-mails are sent via the notification and action service.
Before the end of a recurrence pattern, users can receive a notification. If the sending of these e-mails fails, then the e-mails are sent via the notification and action service.
The same approach is used with other automatically sent e-mails, for example, when used with holiday management or when monitoring tasks.
