Components

In the Portal Management module you define the displayed components and pages.

A component is a collection of pages on a particular topic; for example, pages for holiday or employee management.

A page of a component may be a list, a form, a calendar, and so on. For each component there are various pages available.

 New

New component opens the Select component window. Click on a component. Below you will see a description of this component. Click "OK." You will then be asked if you want to activate this new component.

In the Default components tab you will see the components available in CAS genesisWorld.

In the Personal components tab you will find all custom components. You can create your own components in two ways:

Once you have created a component, you can then save it as a template. Give the template a name. You will then see this template in the Personal components tab.

Export component: after you have created a component, you can export this component as TCB file. This function is also available in the Personal components tab.

Import component: once you have created a component, you can re-import it. This function is also available for the Personal component tab.

You can import, rename or remove components in the Personal components tab.

Important

The names of the folders, components and pages are what the user sees in the navigation bar, menus and pages in CAS genesisWorld.

Components, pages and their special features

A component comprises a number of different pages, of which there are various types such as lists, forms and calendars. The functionality of these page types is comparable, even when they are used in various components with different data record types.

You can define rights for the various components separately. You can assign these rights to different roles in the User management area.
