Roles: Properties

Click the New or Edit button in the User Management area's toolbar to open the corresponding window for a role.

  You can also change these settings on the General tab in the Properties window. To open this window, open the Roles folder and click Properties in the toolbar.

You define roles in the Roles folder in the User Management area. Specific users and groups have specific roles. Roles can also include specific rights that relate to other users or groups.

General tab

This tab displays a description of the One for all and One for one roles. All users are already assigned to these predefined roles and you cannot select users or groups here.

Carry out the following for all other roles that you have created:

By clicking the Add button opens the Select user/groups window. Select the users or groups who are to be assigned the role.

The user/group...is in the role...responsible for
This area contains the users and groups for which the users mentioned above are to execute an active role.

Click New allocation. A window opens in which you can select users and groups.

Rights tab

In this tab you define the rights for:

Users/groups in this role have the following rights
In this pane, select the rights that are to be assigned to the active role.

Users/groups in this role have the following rights for those users/groups with whom a relationship exists
In this pane, select the rights this role is to have over the users/groups who are in a relationship with it.

In other words, the role's rights for the users and groups you selected in the bottom pane of the General tab.

Every time you create a new component (in the Portal Management area) for which individual rights can be assigned, these rights are then added to this pane.

Please note that new rights will be created that apply both for roles and for users/groups that form a relationship with this role.

Example
You have created a new Request component and have defined the new right "Service report" for it in the Portal Management area. Afterwards you can assign this new right here in the tab.
