In this window, you set the general external access rights. These rights can be set for all data record types and users. You can define different access rights.
If you have created a data record, you have full rights to this record. These full rights are maintained even if you are no longer participant of this data record because you delegated the record. You only lose all rights to this data record if external access is set to private by another participant.
This is how you open the Change external access window:
On Tools menu, click Settings.
click the Change external access button.
All users are displayed in the upper pane. If the icon next to a user is available, then this user has external access rights. If it is unavailable, then they do not.
If you select more than one user, then no rights will be shown. This is because the rights may vary from user to user and cannot be displayed separately.
Example
Employees working directly for the Board of Directors are also to have access to the confidential appointments of board members. You can then allow a select number of people to see when the appointments are scheduled, but not the content.
As CAS genesisWorld user you and other users might be assigned to one or several groups. All members of groups also have certain rights due to their group membership.
