LDAP is an abbreviation for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. Using this interface users can access addresses stored in other programs. In the process, selected specific fields are displayed such as, e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
Using programs that support this service such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, you can select addresses, users, or groups from CAS genesisWorld and use them as e-mail recipients.
LDAP has been designed for users who work with e-mail clients other than the CAS genesisWorld e-mail client.
If you want to use LDAP, you have to install an LDAP capable program on your machine and set up an LDAP account. LDAP capable programs include Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. Please contact your administrator for more information.
The different programs use the LDAP address book similarly. Using Microsoft Outlook as an example, you can see which functions are available in LDAP.
An additional function is available in Mozilla Thunderbird.
