The logon window opens after starting CAS genesisWorld.
Your administrator sets up your user account in CAS genesisWorld and registers your user name.
Similarly, your administrator can create a password for you, leave the password field empty so that you can create one yourself. You can change the password in the Settings window on the General tab.
Server name this is the name of the computer on which the CAS genesisWorld application server runs. If the program runs on the computer you are currently working with, leave this field blank.
You can also enter the information above as parameters in the CAS genesisWorld call. This enables you to quickly start the program and you do not have to enter the corresponding information in the logon window. You can enter these parameters if you have a CAS genesisWorld icon on your desktop or if you call CAS genesisWorld using the Run dialog.
The Properties window opens.
C:/Programs/CAS genesisWorld/client/CAS genesisWorld.EXE u=abc p=xyz s=GSERV d=example database
u= user name
p= password
s= server name
d= database
Enclose your name in quotation marks if it contains more than two space characters.
The first part of the call must be set in quotation marks, the parameters not. Only then is ensured that the program can be called with the desktop symbol.
There is a space in front of "u", "p" and "s", but nowhere else. Thus "u=xyz" is written without spaces.
Once you have accessed an application server, the same server is used as default for the next start. The entry as parameter makes sure that the same computer is being used all the time.
Administrators can define 3 different log on procedures in the Management Console.
Now the program automatically tries to log on with the user that is currently logged on to Windows. Thus, the default database is accessed.
Ask your administrator which logon procedure is currently being used.
