Tab views

Almost all views of a program navigator can be opened in a navigator tab.

Opening views in tabs

• Select a view in the navigator.

  A Desktop Client navigator contains folders and views which are sorted in a tree structure.

  If your administrator has assigned you the necessary rights, you will be able to use various navigator functions in the Desktop Client:

  • You can load another navigator.
  • You can create, open, save, delete and rename navigators
  • You can also export or import navigators, allowing you to share your navigator(s) with other users.

• Program navigator

• Open the View menu or in the shortcut menu right-click the view, and then select Open in new tab.

In the upper right pane, all opened navigator tabs are directly displayed under the toolbar.

When you switch to another tab, you will see this view selected in the navigator.

• You can also open the view in a navigator tab by holding the CTRL key and clicking on the view.

Or point to the view and click the mouse wheel.

• In order to display the dossier of one or several data records in a tab, mark one or several data records in a list. Right-click to open the shortcut menu and click Display dossier in tab.

Navigator tab functions

• The commands available on the menu and the toolbars depend on the tab you have opened. The commands available in the calendar view differ from those available in a list view.
• You do not lose your entries if you switch to another tab. A filter that is applied to a list remains unchanged if you open a new tab.
• You can change the order of the tabs using a drag and drop operation.

Click this icon to close the tab.

• If after approximately five minutes the list has not been refreshed, the view's "age" will appear on the status bar in the bottom left corner.
• If you want to open a view that is already open in another tab, then you automatically switch to this tab. This functionality is defined in the Settings of the Working environment.

Navigator tab functions

• Navigator tabs each have a shortcut menu, which you can open by right-clicking the tab.

Close other tabs closes all navigator tabs apart from the one currently opened.

Close tab closes the currently active navigator tab.

Active tabs displays a list with all opened navigator tabs.

Save tab group / Load tab group functions allow you to save the current group of tabs, the latter to open a tab group you have saved. These tabs will than be available upon each CAS genesisWorld start.

You can select the Load automatically when loading the navigator option for a group of tabs. You load this tab group while loading the navigator, for example, upon CAS genesisWorld start.

• Press CTRL+F3 to open the Search function in a separate tab.

The Incoming mail view for a personal e-mail account cannot be saved as tab in a public navigator.

A view tab group is saved in the database. You cannot save a personal inbox in a public navigator but only the default account of the user who is currently logged on. Thus, only the default account of the logged-on user can be saved as tab in a public navigator.
