View format tab
For each field in the twin list and on the View format tab, the system will display the data record types a field belongs to.
For twin lists special view formats are available. One such view format is created automatically when created a twin list from the default view formats which have been set for both data record types. The automatically created view format is also saved automatically under the name Default.
You can to some extent edit the view format in twin lists even without rights to do so.
Rights for view formats
The following navigator rights can be set for users.
- Without navigator rights, view formats cannot be edited.
- Do not change view formats This means that the user has to use the view formats set by the administrator. You can change a list temporarily even if you do not have view format rights.
- Using Create and edit your own view formats you can display the respective functions in the clients.
- With Create and edit your own and public view formats you can also save public view formats for others.
Public Default view formats can only be created or edited by your administrator. Your administrator creates a public Default view format for each data record type and sets it as either changeable or unchangeable.
- This Default view format is used if no other view format has been selected for a list. Examples of this are the display of hits in the Search window or the contact persons in a company data record.
- If your adminstrator has given you the permissions to do so, then you can set default view formats for yourself.
The following functions are possible.
- You can still load another public view format without rights to navigators, or if you are allowed to select navigators and you do not have rights to view formats.
You can access this function via the context menu of the list view.
- If you have been granted the rights to create and edit your own navigators or access view formats without rights, then you will also be able to load another public view format via the context menu.
Also, you can change the fields displayed on the View Format tab of the Double List properties for the Standard view format.
This Default view format was created automatically and only applies to twin lists with the two displayed data record types. If you do not have rights to view formats, then the Default view format is saved automatically as the private view format.
- If you have rights to your own or public view formats, then the other remaining rights will be available.
