On the General tab of the E-Mail settings, you define which e-mail client is to be used and whether desktop notifications are displayed.
The e-mail clients that are available on your PC are displayed in the drop-down list.
The default e-mail client is entered into the Windows Registry and thereby set as the default program for sending and receiving e-mails.
You define which account is used as the default e-mail account by clicking the As default button or in the settings of an existing e-mail account.
Otherwise, the program you have defined as Default e-mail client is used for writing an e-mail in CAS genesisWorld.
All e-mail files on your computer are recognizable by the .eml file extension and can be opened with CAS genesisWorld.
If you open e-mail files outside of CAS genesisWorld, the operating system always opens the file in the defined program.
You can only use this function for accounts using IMAP4. For other accounts, you refresh e-mail folders manually, for example, using the F5 key.
The first and the third option can only be changed if you are allowed to change entries in the Windows Registry on a computer under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. These settings do not only apply for the logged-on user but for all users working on the respective PC.
A list of Suggested e-mail addresses contains the e-mail addresses you have already contacted via e-mail. The following options are available:
None
Only internal recipients collects e-mail addresses of your company. The system identifies your domain from the e-mail address entered for your user account. For example, robert.glaser@cas.de has the domain @cas.de.
All recipients collect all e-mail addresses you have contacted independent of their domain.
You can set to be notified when new e-mails are received. Sender, subject, and the first lines of the text are displayed. Additionally, you can see whether the e-mail contains attachments.
In the account settings, the Refresh and notify automatically option must be activated. If the automatic refresh option has not been activated, you do not receive any desktop notifications even if the Display message box for new e-mails option has been activated.
If you write a new e-mail in CAS genesisWorld, the default e-mail client is called via the following interface:
When changing the default e-mail client, you have to restart CAS genesisWorld if you want to switch from ExtendedMAPI to SimpleMAPI. When creating a new e-mail, a respective hint is displayed.
