Most Properties for an e-mail account are defined when the account is created and can be changed afterwards. Some settings can only be changed in the properties.
On Tools menu, click Settings.
The e-mail account properties window contains different tabs depending on whether you have selected an IMAP account or an account for Personal folders.
Once you have completed the first settings for an e-mail account on a computer, you can select more settings from the respective drop-down lists and then you will no longer, for example, have to enter the inbox server.
When working in a company, you usually have a personal e-mail address that has been entered for your CAS genesisWorld user account by the administrator. You cannot change the e-mail address entered for your CAS genesisWorld user account, neither when creating an e-mail account, nor when retroactively changing the account properties.
In the Desktop Client, allocated e-mail addresses for user accounts are displayed in the Settings window on the General tab under Saved e-mail address.
If you yourself can create further e-mail accounts, then you can enter and change the contents of the E-mail address field.
Settings for automatic actions tab
If you open CAS genesisWorld only for short intervals, it can be opened faster without the settings for automatic functions. When using automatic functions, you do not have to wait until your e-mails are loaded when opening the inbox.
If the option is activated, e-mail views are updated immediately after the start of CAS genesisWorld.
If the option is not active, the update starts only when you access your e-mail account. For example, the inbox is only refreshed when you open the respective e-mail view.
If you want to use the updating and notifying function, you must be logged on to the e-mail server automatically or manually.
You can define the same settings for the Inbox server and the Outgoing mail server.
For this kind of account, you need to keep some special considerations in mind.
The text body of the e-mail will not be encrypted. If you want to encrypt the text of the e-mail, you can define a corresponding setting on the Security tab in the e-mail account properties.
After you have selected None, CRM-MD5, or NTLM, you need to enter the password for the e-mail account either in the wizard, in the e-mail account properties, or when accessing the e-mail account for the first time.
After you have selected OAuth2, you need to authenticate the account for the OAuth2 provider in the wizard, the e-mail account properties, or when accessing the e-mail account for the first time.
If OAuth2 is selected for the inbox server and outgoing mail server, you need to define the same logon name and OAuth2 provider for both servers.
If you activate the Outgoing mail server requires authentication option, you can enter the same or different values as for the inbox server.
The Provider (OAuth2) drop-down list is displayed if you have selected the OAuth2 entry in the Password authentication area in the Server information for the e-mail account.
The Draft, Deleted objects, Sent objects and Inbox are usually always available. You can create additional folders depending on your requirements, for example, Customer correspondence Enquiries or Next.
Sent e-mail can be saved by default to the Sent objects folder.
E-mails can be moved to existing folders using rules, this helps to keep the inbox tidy.
When displaying folders as list view in the program navigator, there are a number of specifics you need to take into consideration.
We recommend you transfer e-mails to local folders, or folders on your company's network, because this helps to increase online performance and you can also work with E-mails offline.
If offline e-mails are available then you will be able to access your mailbox without having a connection to the e-mail server. This is possible if mailbox content has been copied to local folders on the e-mail server.
As soon as a copy of the e-mail exists in the local folder, the e-mail will be available offline. Even if you do not have direct access to your mailbox on the e-mail server, you will still be able to edit, write and delete new e-mails and so on. Sending, and deleting new e-mails is only possible when you switch to online modus.
E-mails available offline are not CAS genesisWorld data records.
The folder for saving locally is set by default, however, you can change this to suit your own needs.
New e-mails can already contain a signature automatically.
If you have created multiple signatures, then you can select which one you would like to use in the e-mail window instead of the one you set as your default.
You can configure a preset for an e-mail account, so that outgoing e-mails are always given a digital signature and also whether you wish the content and attachments to be encrypted.
You can change this preset in the e-mail window before sending an individual e-mail by clicking the button above the toolbar.
