Link search

This function is only available in the Premium Edition.

Use the link search if you want to search for data records by their links.

First, you select a data record type and enter filter criteria for certain data records. Then you indicate which links you want to include in your search. The displayed data records are returned as results of the filter search and are linked to the data records selected for the search.

Step 1

Define filter criteria in order to find certain data records.

Now enter a filter condition.

Step 2

Now you define the linked data records you want to include in the search. The number of data records specified in Step 1 is thus reduced. Only those data records are found which are linked to the data records indicated in Step 2.

Step 3

If you have made the settings described in Step 1 and Step 2, you include linked data record types in your search.

You can search for data records (Step 1) which are linked/not linked with certain other data records (Step 2).

and

which are further linked/not linked with data records of a different data record type (Step 3).

for data records (Step 1) which are either linked or not linked with certain other data records (Step 2)

or

which are linked/not linked with certain data records of another data record type (Step 3).

The and/or setting is only of relevance if you want to include more than one data record type in your search.

Example: You have entered filter criteria for addresses. For the link search, you have selected appointments and opportunities.

and: If this option is activated, data records selected in Step 1 must have several links, i.e. at least one link for each search criteria window you have activated with AND.

This means for the example that addresses must be linked with appointments and also with opportunities.

or: If this option is activated, the data records you search for with the Search filter settings must be linked with one of the data records you want to include in the link search.

In this example, it means that addresses must either be linked with appointments or with opportunities or with both.

With the Add further conditions button, you can add more link search criteria. These search criteria are included in the search as described in Step 3.

Example: You want to search for addresses of certain opportunities and tasks in process.

You search for all companies from the post code area 7 which have assigned an opportunity with product items and which have tasks still in process.
