Input help for the Type and Status fields

You can create input help options for the Status field that are dependent on the Type field.

In principle, the process of entering input help options for the Type and Status fields is similar to other input help options. The particularities of Type and Status are described on this page.

Input help options for Type and Status are always displayed as a Single selection list from which users can select one entry respectively.

Please note

This function is only available in the Premium Edition.

Interdependent input help options for the Type and Status fields are available for data record types that also contain the GWSTYPE and GWSSTATUS database fields.

The Import of input help options, for example, from a test system, is equivalent to creating completely new input help options. After importing input help options for the Type field, the display of tabs must therefore be defined again.

If special corporate data record types are created, you can always create these fields for those data record types. To do so, use the Create Type/Status button in the toolbar.

Defining one or two-step input help options

Using the Input help button, you open the Administer type and status window for both the Type and the Status field.

One-level input help options

This means that input help options in the Status field are not dependent on the type.

Users can then select the same status for each type.

Two-level input help options

If users now select a Type entry in the Desktop Client, only the entries for the selected Type are displayed in the Status field.

Mandatory fields

Click the Mandatory fields button to open the window of the same name in which you define certain fields as mandatory. When users then select the respective type or status, they will have to complete these fields.
