Microsoft Outlook

Using the Microsoft Outlook add-in, you can archive e-mails and attachments, and transfer contacts, tasks and appointments to CAS genesisWorld.

Important

The add-in supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Microsoft Outlook can be used as default e-mail client together with CAS genesisWorld if Microsoft Outlook functions are to be used. E-mails and attachments can be archived with the add-in; and contacts, tasks and appointments can also be transferred to CAS genesisWorld.

The Microsoft Exchange address book is only available for users if Microsoft Outlook is configured as your default e-mail client. Microsoft Outlook is then set as your default e-mail client in CAS genesisWorld. In order to still use the CAS genesisWorld e-mail client, users activate the Send always with the CAS genesisWorld e-mail client in CAS genesisWorld; to activate this option, go to Settings > E-mail > General.

When using Exchange sync not all of the add-in functions will be available depending on how you configured the module. And if you are only synchronizing appointments with Exchange sync, then you can transfer addresses to CAS genesisWorld using the add-in from Microsoft Outlook. Likewise, if you are only synchronizing addresses with Exchange sync, then you can transfer appointments and invitations to CAS genesisWorld using the add-in from Microsoft Outlook. It is still possible to archive e‑mails as e‑mails, tasks or documents when using Exchange sync.

Add-in functions

E-mails and e-mail attachments can be transferred to CAS genesisWorld via the archiving function.
Contacts, tasks and appointments from Microsoft Outlook can be transferred to CAS genesisWorld.
Invitations to appointments can be accepted or declined in Microsoft Outlook and transferred to CAS genesisWorld.
Addresses in an e-mail can be directly transferred from Microsoft Outlook to CAS genesisWorld and be created either as individual contact, contact person or company.
E-mails and attachments can also be quickly archived and data can be transferred with the add-in even if no CAS genesisWorld Desktop client is installed. Then the respective Web Service must be set up in the Server Manager. The logon data for users must be entered in Microsoft Outlook.
If no CAS genesisWorld Desktop Client is installed, data is automatically archived without prompt and with the default template of the respective user by clicking One-click archiving and One-click archiving & sending.
When transferring contacts, tasks and appointments from Microsoft Outlook, the corresponding data records are created in CAS genesisWorld.
Users can access xRM data of the opened e-mail via the sidebar. This includes both personal data from the address and data records which are linked to the address. Furthermore, addresses and the dossier can be searched, data records can be directly opened via the sidebar, contacts can be called, and much more.
