GBT and GTF files contain views of CAS genesisWorld data records, which you can save to a data carrier (for example, hard disk drive or a network drive) or which you can send by e-mail.
You will be able to use the address export functions in GTF format if you have been given sufficient rights from your administrator.
Before exporting data from CAS genesisWorld a window - depending on the administrator's settings - opens in which you have to enter your password for CAS genesisWorld. This query has been implemented to ensure that your data in CAS genesisWorld is secure.
The entering of your password is also required if you have already opened CAS genesisWorld and you are logged in. The password you need to enter must be your CAS genesisWorld password, even if you otherwise log on with your CAS genesisWorld Windows user account.
You define the CAS genesisWorld password in the Settings window, in the General tab.
You can only use GBT and GTF files when working with CAS genesisWorld.
For example, you can send a GTF file to a contact partner from another company if they also are also using CAS genesisWorld.
Importing GTF files in CAS genesisWorld, might lead to duplicates in the data stock if the database already contains the same records.
The administrator can define that certain fields are not adopted when duplicating data records. Those fields are also not adopted when importing GTF files.
However, if you are planning on using them within a company, then we recommend you use GBT files.
If you, for example, double-click a GBT file in the Windows Explorer, the corresponding views or data records are opened. To this end, either an already running CAS genesisWorld is used or CAS genesisWorld is started.
You use a GBT file if the recipient accesses the same CAS genesisWorld (the same database) as yourself.
