Telephony settings

On the Telephony tab, you can configure the telephony integration settings in the Desktop Client. This supports telephony from CAS genesisWorld by transferring telephone numbers to the telephony system, or by opening addresses, phone calls, or call back lists automatically.

On Tools menu, click Settings.

• Open the Telephony tab.

Calling from CAS genesisWorld, key functions such as the automatic opening of phone calls, addresses or call back lists will only work if the respective driver is installed and set up correctly on your PC. Please contact your administrator for more information.

Activating the telephony integration

• Activating the Telephony integration active option.
• Select the telephony driver from the drop-down list Connect using the following telephony driver.

This connects your computer to the telephone system.

The driver is installed in the Windows system settings and can be selected from the drop-down list. If you use a CTI solution you have to use the CTI driver. Otherwise use the TAPI driver for your PBX.

The phone icon is displayed next to a phone driver. Several phone lines can connect to one driver, e.g. for ISDN. If this is the case, then the lines will be displayed indented in the drop-down list.

• And if call identification should be active for all lines, simply select the respective telephone driver in the upper drop-down list.
• If call identification should be active for a specific line, select the respective line from the drop-down list in the telephone driver.

Automatic actions

If required, you can set automatic actions for incoming and outgoing calls.

Incoming calls

The following settings can be configured for incoming, external calls and incoming, internal calls.

• If you have activated the No automatic actions option, then no automatic actions will be performed.
• Using the Open address option, the address data record, for example, the address of the customer who is calling, will be opened automatically.

An address data record is only opened if the telephone number is available in the address. If you have several address that share the same number, these addresses are displayed in a list.

• When activating the Call back list / Display call option option, the Telephony window will open when you take a call.

The call back list contains incoming calls that you did not take.

• Using the Call back list / Save call option, a telephony data record is created in the background. The Phone call window will not open. The phone call will be saved with all information available in CAS genesisWorld, for example, start of the call and address quick info.

Outgoing calls

You can use the following settings for outgoing, external calls and outgoing, internal calls.

• If you have activated the No automatic actions option, then no automatic actions will be performed.
• Using the Open call option, a new call data record is opened automatically.
• If you select Only save phone call, the data record for a phone call will be created in the background.

Call data on end times and call duration can only be saved if the TAPI driver you are using supports these features.

Replacing numbers and characters

• You will have to activate the Cut number for outside line function to take calls from abroad. Otherwise, CAS genesisWorld might not be able to recognize phone numbers from abroad.

• Cutting the outside line number/international calls

• To replace the plus sign when dialing, activate the Replace (+) sign with function and, enter the number you wish to replace it with.

Different phone providers, e.g. in France, use different prefixes. Thus, another number has to be dialed for calling to Germany.

• When using the If a telephone number begins with the following numbers only dial the area code option only internal calls are recognized.

Enter your company's area code and telephone number without entering your direct dial number.

If you then call an internal number, only the extension is called. This is to prevent internal calls from being made via an external line (subject to call charge).

This ensures that internal calls are recognized by CAS genesisWorld.

Rights

• Activate Set external access rights for automatically created phone calls to confidential, this ensures that the external access for new phone calls is automatically set to confidential.

If you want to grant other colleagues access to the phone call, you can enter them as participants in the respective phone call data record.

Other dialing parameters

Normally, it won't be necessary to make any settings via the Other dialing parameters button. These types of settings are usually made by the administrator in the main installation of the telephone system.

• Click the Other dialing parameters button.

The Location information window from Windows will open.

• Enter the necessary location information to enable phone calls or modem connections.
