Dashboard tab: Data record dashboard

Each data record contains now a Dashboard tab where you can create data record dashboards.

In the Management Console, the administrator defines the data records in which the dashboard tab is displayed. The Dashboard tab is often available for projects and addresses.

Enter the name you want to save the data record dashboard under. If you set a specific data record dashboard as the default for a particular data record type, then this data record dashboard automatically opens when you open the dashboard tab.

Data records have dashboards that differ from company dashboards displayed in the program navigator. Company dashboards display a subset of all CAS genesisWorld data. Data record dashboards, on the other hand, display data and links of that particular data record.

Both company dashboards and data record dashboards can be made available by the administrator.

If you close the data record window without saving the dashboard before, your changes are discarded.

Dashboard functions

Add new element opens a wizard showing two areas.

• The Display existing element area contains a list with all existing elements that you can select and display.
• The Create new element from template section contains a list from which you can select templates for new elements. An element may contain CAS genesisWorld data records, links or Web contents.

Save dashboard saves the active dashboard. If you select the Public option, then this dashboard is available for all users.

The Save dashboard function is displayed if you have made changes to the dashboard. If you close the data record window without saving the dashboard before, your changes will be discarded.

The functions in the Settings drop-down list allow you to change the tab.

You can move dashboard elements with drag and drop.

• Refresh updates all displayed data. The user is informed about the last refresh.
• Open dashboard opens a window, in which your data record dashboards are displayed. If you have previously changed the active data record dashboard, it is not recommended using these functions. First, save the active data record dashboard to save the changes.
• Save dashboard as saves the active dashboard under a new name.
• use as default defines the active dashboard as default for the corresponding data record.
• Delete dashboard deletes the active dashboard.
• Import element opens a corresponding window. You import an element in PORTLET file format. The Export element button is found in the Settings drop-down list of the element.

Available elements in the data record dashboard

• Selected fields is only available in the data record dashboard. With this element, you select certain data record fields which you display in the dashboard.
• Some of the elements available in the data record dashboard are also available in the company dashboard.
