The dialogs Select source for import and Select target for export pages are of equal content.
Please note that if you import text files, different language versions lead to different presentations of number and date formats. For example date formats: the date 5. April 2014 is displayed as 04/05/2014 on an American English system. The same date however, is displayed as follows 05.04.2014 on a German or British English system. If you are working with different language versions make sure that server and client use the same country-specific settings. If you exchange data between different systems the same country-specific settings must be used.
You have to make a number of settings to import/ export data. You can save these settings in total either as file or in the database of CAS genesisWorld. If you selected and saved your settings for importing/exporting certain data (addresses, or projects, or ...) you can load these settings again. You save settings with the Summary dialog.
from database: clicking this button opens a window in which you can load settings. You have saved these settings from an earlier import/export process. Other users cannot access your saved settings.
Click on the little black arrow and select the from file entry. The file extension of such file is usually DTG.
Settings are always specific for certain data (addresses, projects, ...). If the loaded settings are not correct or incomplete a dialog for editing these settings opens automatically. You cannot import/ export tables if the name of the table contains blanks or special characters.
The unique GGUID field is also exported during the export.
Select data source for import and data target for export in the upper area.
