Edit contact data window

The Edit contact data window opens if you click the icon next to the Contact data field.

Click this button to delete all entries in that row.

This icon, next to a phone/fax number indicates that the number does not match the DIN 5008 format. When you click the icon, the number is formatted accordingly.

These entries are shown in red in the Contact data field in the address data record window. The entries can only be formatted automatically by clicking the icon in the Edit contact data window.

Click one of the corresponding symbols in the Edit contact data window to dial the phone number, open the Send new email window, or open the desired website in your Web browser.

Default option

You can activate the Default option for up to 3 telephone numbers. If you choose to do so, you will see 3 buttons displayed next to each other under Default. For fax numbers and e-mail addresses, you can activate the Default option for 1 entry in each category.

The Default option has multiple effects

Formatting phone and fax numbers

Phone numbers are entered and displayed in the DIN 5008 format

You can enter phone or fax numbers in the format you are used to. You can only enter numbers and hyphens.

If your entry does not correspond with the standard for phone numbers, this icon is displayed.

If you click the icon, the phone number is formatted in DIN 5008 format.

Phone and fax numbers that have not been specially formatted are saved with "+", for example, "+49." The "+" or "+49" values are included in a Microsoft Word data source, these values are used if you send a fax from CAS genesisWorld. You cannot change this setting.

The system will only be able to find phone numbers entered in the international format if you have deleted the leading zero.

Use a wildcard character such as %72196380.

Skype integration

CAS genesisWorld supports Microsoft Skype and Microsoft Skype for Business.

You can use the functions if you have installed Microsoft Skype or Microsoft Skype for Business. If you have set Skype for Business as your telephony driver, all calls from CAS genesisWorld are made via Skype for Business.

When selecting participants or using the SmartSearch actions for addresses in the address data record, you can communicate via call or chat.
