Rights for the duplicate check

Relevant users will require special rights to different functions and data record types so that they can use the duplicate check functions. Your administrator issues rights for things like duplicate checking in the Management Console.

Please contact your administrator if necessary.

Rights to addresses

To merge duplicates, users require at least rights to the Addresses data record type and all the fields included in the data record.

You administrator will defines the minimum rights you need to merge duplicates.

Please contact your administrator if necessary.

If a data record type is not user sensitive, then all the respective addresses are public. All CAS genesisWorld users can merge duplicates for public addresses, on condition that they have been granted at least Read rights to the Addresses data record type.

If addresses are user sensitive, then participant external access rights to the respective addresses are taken into account when merging duplicates. Your administrator decides if strict rights checks are necessary when merging duplicates.

If your administrator has set special rights for users which apply to specific fields for a data record type, then these rights will also be taken into account when merging duplicates.

If users do not have the Read or Edit rights to specific fields, then some duplicates can still be merged by users without rights:

Merging multiple duplicates

Users with special rights can merge duplicates for multiple addresses using the Merge duplicates function in the Tools menu of the program window and if they are using certain modules in their company or they have activated duplicate checking for addresses.

Your administrator defines whether or not a duplicate check runs when importing addresses using the duplicate check settings.

Please contact your administrator if necessary.

The Duplicate check function is not an independent duplicate checker which checks the current address data stock. Any duplicates which the user does not merge when saving the data record are not displayed afterwards in the Merge duplicates window.

Users have to have been granted the Merge duplicates right to use this function.

To permanently merge duplicates, you may require the additional Read and/or Edit rights to addresses.

Please contact your administrator if necessary.
