Addresses/Duplicate check tab

In CAS genesisWorld every time you save an address, a duplicate check is performed automatically. During a duplicate check, specific fields from two or more addresses are compared with each other.

In the process, for example, the Company, First name, Last name, Street, Postal code and City/Town fields are checked by the duplicate checker. For the fields you are comparing, a predefined threshold value has to exceed a percentage of agreement for the addresses to be considered duplicates.

The following functions are available:

• The Found duplicate window opens automatically in the Desktop Client if a duplicate was detected while saving an address. If no rights for merging duplicates are granted, the duplicates are only displayed.

With the necessary rights, you can merge the duplicates using the window functions.

• On the Included fields tab you can define which fields are included and the amount of weighting in percent.

• On the Search options tab, you can define more settings for the duplicate search, for example, the threshold value for the percentage of agreement. On this tab, you can also activate the function to check for duplicates when importing addresses.

Duplicates may occur when working with several modules in CAS genesisWorld.

The Merge duplicates function is available in the Tools menu of the Desktop Client program window.
