User management area

In the User Management area you can manage user accounts and resource, create groups and assign them to them to users as well as make changes to additional settings, for example, for rights and security.

The inputs you make for settings are displayed on the left-hand side in the User management area. Lists of inputs are displayed on the right.

When using the replication, user accounts are managed on multiple domains.

Columns in lists

In the lists for user accounts, resources and groups, columns provide you with a quick overview.

If the Guest: No access to public data records is active, then external access rights will basically not be available after logging on with such an account.

Functions for editing entries

Using the New ... you create a new user account, a new resource and so on. The drop-down list offers you all the options, you will see new entries under the respective entry on the left in the User Management area.

 Properties Opens the properties window for a user account, group and so on.

 Renaming is performed directly in the list after you click the button.

 Duplicate copies the entry you highlighted, consequently some but not all properties will then be duplicated.

 Change password opens a window in which you can define a new user password.

 Overview opens a window with information on the user account you highlighted, for example, on the user's rights.

Active Directory and LDAP

You will find the functions for the integration of Active Directory in the More options drop-down list.

Active Directory Integration opens the synchronization window.

 Importing Windows users opens the import window.

E-mail addresses for user account and resources

You should ensure that a unique e-mail address is available for each user account, these e-mail addresses are then used for invitation management and the notification service. An e-mail address can be entered for resources and groups.

You enter the e-mail address when creating a single user account, a group or resource into the General tab in the Properties window.

For multiple user account and resources, you can enter the e-mail addresses simultaneously or check them for their uniqueness. The can be helpful, for example, if you are configuring CAS genesisWorld for a company.

If you enter e-mail addresses again, then the existing e-mail addresses will be overwritten.

Select Define e-mail addresses from the More options drop-down list in the toolbar.

Checking existing e-mail addresses

In the Defining e-mail addresses window, you will see the Previous e-mail address column in the list.

Entering new e-mail addresses

The values originate from the user account properties or the resource on the General tab.

MMK E-Mail-Adressen festlegen Checkboxen - Now, you will be able to activate or deactivate the checkboxes. Activate the user account or resources whose e-mail address you want to adopt.

A red smiley indicates that an e-mail address contains invalid characters. In this case, the checkbox is not active. You must then enter this e-mail address manually in the properties of the user and/or resource.
