Address Wizard

The Address Wizard can use an existing text, such as an Internet page or an e-mail, to almost automatically create data records for addresses in CAS genesisWorld.

The functions for the Address Wizard are only available if you have the necessary rights.

• Special rights for data protection

If as a user you are deploying the Address Wizard in a client and in the process you are transferring data, then this data is encrypted (https) via the Internet and sent to a CAS Software AG Web service. Converting the data into an address data record is a complex logical procedure which takes place on the CAS Software AG servers. The result is then returned and displayed in the address wizard over a secure Internet connection.

The Address Wizard has been optimized for a selection of countries. Addresses from the following countries will be recognized: Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey. You might experience restrictions with addresses from other countries when you are allocating fields.

CAS Software AG does not store or use any of this data for its own purposes.

The Address Wizard is available in several places in CAS genesisWorld and the procedure is always the same.

Where can I find the Address Wizard?

• You can open the Address Wizard in the program window via the Tools menu or by clicking/tapping the button on the tool bar.

• Default buttons

• You can activate the Address Wizard via the tool bar in the e-mail window and in the Tools menu.

• E-mail window

• When archiving an e-mail, the Address Wizard is available in the Link with other data records area.

• Archiving e-mails

• In Microsoft Outlook the Address Wizard is used with the Transfer Address function.

Address Wizard procedures

A new address is created with either text from a clipboard or with text from an e-mail. Data from the text is entered into the Default address fields of an address data record.

• Content from the clipboard is displayed automatically when your open the Address Wizard window in the program window.
• Previously highlighted text in the e-mail is displayed when you open the Address Wizard window in the e-mail window.
• The whole e-mail text is displayed if the Address Wizard window is opened while archiving an e-mail.
• You can change or delete the displayed text in the Address Wizard window.
• Click Create address. A dialog box will open.
• In the following dialog, you can select whether you wish to create a company address, a contact person or an individual contact.
• If the new address you wish to create is a possible duplicate, then the Duplicate found window will open.

• Duplicate checking when editing

• Otherwise the Create new address window will open in which you can add more data.

• Address management

As much of the information as possible is automatically inserted into the corresponding address' fields.

Text that cannot be allocated to any of the address fields is entered in the Notes field.

If you create a company address and you still have first and second names cached on the clipboard, then this information is also entered into the Notes field.

• The Address Wizard window is also well-suited to create both an address and notes simultaneously. This can be very useful, for example, you may have received a call or be in the middle of some Internet research and wish to make a note of both data and additional information.
