vCard
Virtual cards (vCards) are a standardized form of electronic business card.
You will only be able to export multiple addresses as vCards if your administrator has assigned you the necessary rights. However, users can still export individual addresses as vCards or attach them to e-mails, for example, using a drag and drop operation.
A vCard has the following filename extension: .vcf.
You can import and export address data records to and from CAS genesisWorld as vCards. You can also attach these vCards to e-mails. All this can be done by drag and drop.
Many other programs can also import or export vCards.
Exporting vCards
- Open a list of addresses and select one or more addresses.
- Open the Tools menu (or right-click to open the shortcut menu) and click Export > Export address as vCard.
- A window opens. Select one of the following options: Export only default fields, Export default fields and additional fields, and Export all fields.
- The Select file window now opens in Windows. Use the suggested name or enter another name.
- You will also find this option on the File menu in an address' data record window.
- You can also export by dragging the address to the desired location: Reduce the size of the <Program> program window if necessary. Select one or more addresses and drag them to your desktop or Windows Explorer.
- A shortcut menu will appear. Select the format you want to export the address as.
With drag and drop, you cannot define which of the address' fields are exported. Only default fields are exported.
A vCard or .vdf file is created for each address.
