E-mail view functions
In every subordinate view of an e-mail account folder or a private folder; inbox, outbox, draft and so on, you will see that similar functions are available.
The number of new and unread e-mails is displayed in the navigator after the name of the view in brackets.
For new e-mails, you will receive automatic short notifications, or if you prefer a longer notification on the toolbar.
Desktop notifications for e-mails
With new e-mails an icon is displayed in the lower right-hand corner in the System tray of the toolbar. This display occurs independent of CAS genesisWorld via an operating system setting.
Additionally, in CAS genesisWorld you can allow a desktop notification to be displayed via the toolbar when you receive a new e-mail. The desktop notification consists of a hint text window which shows the sender the date of sending and the subject.
The display of a desktop notification requires 2 settings.
In the Settings window, activate the respective option for a Desktop notification.
- The settings for the automatic update and settings for automatic actions have to be enabled.
Using a preview, you can read e-mails without having to open a separate window and can then skim read a list of e-mails.
Preview
- To display or hide the preview, click Display preview in the View menu and then Off, Below or Right
- To change the size of the list or the preview, slide the bar in the respective direction to enlarge or reduce the size, the bar is located above the preview.
- With notifications for appointments, in the preview you will see a calendar for the respective day.
You can move and copy e-mails between the views.
Moving e-mails to another folder
Folders in IMAP e-mail accounts or a private folder can be used as the source or target folder when moving e-mails.
- Select one or more e-mails.
- Select Move from the context menu.
- The Move e-mails window will now open, here you can select a folder to which you want to move the e-mail.
You will find many of the e-mail functions in the toolbar.
Toolbar functions
Online-/Offline mode clicking this button switches back and forth between the respective modes. The drop-down list displays all the accounts which have been setup, so that you can switch between accounts.
In online mode the views are always current when you fresh manually or automatically. In offline mode the e-mails are displayed that have been saved locally.
Reply and Reply all open the window with a highlighted e-mail.
Forward You can forward one or more highlighted e-mails.
Update after clicking this button, the e-mail view is updated.
You can set an automatic logon to the e-mail server and automatic updates of the view in your e-mail account.
In the Archive drop-down list, select how you wish the e-mail to be archived. Then the Archive e-mail window opens.
The Archived e-mail icon is active for an archived e-mail and opens the respective data record window. This function is not available for private folders.
- The Open drop-down list contains functions for attachments, for example, for saving or archiving.
- If e-mails are very large, only important data is displayed in the preview. The e-mail is displayed fully in the e-mail window.
Several functions are available through drag and drop.
