The settings described refer to form letters and letters that you can create in CAS genesisWorld and Microsoft Word.
Use PO Box address: The Address rows 1-7 mail merge field, inserts all the fields required to complete the recipient's address whether it be for a national or international address. If form of address and PO Box are available and the Use PO Box address option is active, the PO Box address is used.
If address and PO Box address are available and the Use PO Box address option is not activated, the address is automatically used.
If the Use PO Box address option is activated, and, for example, the town is missing in the PO Box address whereas the address is complete, the program uses the PO Box address, but enters the town found in the address.
Use the PO Box address has no affect if either the address or the PO box address is missing. In such cases only the data that is available is used.
Output language of target country: define in which language the country is to be printed in a form letter. In the CAS genesisWorld language setting, the language in which the user has logged on is used.
The country is only added to the rest of the address if the letter is addressed to a foreign address.
The Output language of target country is used when printing labels.
Insert a comma at the end of the generated salutation inserts a comma after the salutation which was automatically entered in the corresponding field. The administrator can define specific punctuation marks for the end of a salutation depending on the country. If different settings exist, then deactivate this option.
Data source format: Define the format of the data source.
UTF8 is usually activated. This format is a special text format like, for example, ASCII.
ANSI corresponds to the Windows character set.
Select Unicode if you want to use international addresses.
Add note fields to data source: You can select the notes of an address for a letter or a form letter. Fields created by the administrator with more than 255 characters can be affected by this setting.
We do not recommend using this option if the note fields contain special characters such as line breaks or semicolons. Microsoft Word might not be able to process the data source.
This option must not be activated if you want to create more than 1,000 form letters. The processing of mail merge fields might take a while and Microsoft Word is only opened if this data has been processed.
Add addresses of the following link types to the data source: The icon opens the Select link types window. Define whether only addresses with certain link types are inserted in the data source. Form letters are then only created for those addresses which are linked with certain link types with the document data record.
