Configuring the Microsoft Outlook Add-In

The Microsoft Outlook Add-In enables various functions for interplay of Microsoft Outlook and CAS genesisWorld. For example, you can archive e-mails and attachments, adopt contact data, tasks, and appointments, and react to appointment invitations.

When using the CAS Outlook Add-In there are some specifics with other modules that you need to take into account. For more information on this see the Add-In for Microsoft Outlook page, under Using multiple modules in the help documentation on hilfe.cas.de.

The Microsoft Exchange address book is only available if Microsoft Outlook has been set as the default e-mail client. The CAS genesisWorld e-mail client can still be used as the default in CAS genesisWorld.

Add-in functions

The available functions depend on whether or not the extended integration has been enabled in the add-in options, and whether the Desktop Client has been installed as well as any additional add-ins.

Functions for the Desktop Client

E-mails and e-mail attachments can be transferred to CAS genesisWorld by archiving them using an archiving template.

You can transfer e-mail addresses directly from Microsoft Outlook to CAS genesisWorld and then select whether you would like to create a individual contact, a contact person, or a company.

Functions with the Desktop Client and CAS genesisWorld Web

Your administrator can configure Microsoft Outlook so that you can use your logon credentials from CAS genesisWorld. However, you may have to do this yourself in Microsoft Outlook. Only then will the functions described below be available without having to install the Desktop Client.

One-click archiving is also possible in Microsoft Outlook when using the add-in if you do not have a CAS genesisWorld Desktop Client installed on your computer. For this, the respective user's default template is used automatically for archiving e-mails.

You can transfer contacts, tasks, and appointments from Microsoft Outlook to CAS genesisWorld. This is also possible if you do not have a CAS genesisWorld Desktop Client installed on your computer.

You can accept invitations to appointments in Microsoft Outlook and then transfer them to CAS genesisWorld.

You will see data for open e-mails such as linked data records in the sidebar. Additionally, you can perform CAS genesisWorld functions directly from Microsoft Outlook.
