Several types of documents are available in CAS genesisWorld, for example, Archive documents, short notes, and e-mail campaigns.
Document data records can contain metadata as well as files. Metadata are fields, such as Subject, Category, Participants, and Notes. A file for a document data record can be any file you can create on your computer, for example, a Microsoft Word file.
You can create several document types in CAS genesisWorld.
CAS genesisWorld document data records with an archive file consist of metadata and an archive file which can be, for example a Microsoft Word document, a Microsoft Excel table, a PDF file, an audio file, and so on.
An archive file can be any file you can create on your computer.
These archive files are not edited with CAS genesisWorld, but with the respective application. The little icon in the list tells you which application to use.
The Internet address and the Short note are data record types that do not contain any files.
The Internet address contains an internet address.
The Short note contains text in the Notes area. You can, for example, enter a comment on a conversation or phone call in a short note.
With the special document data record E-mail campaign, you write and send HTML e-mails to one or more addresses.
Creating documents always follows several steps.
You can see documents in lists or dossiers.
If you create a cover letter, you usually contact one or several addresses, for example, from a list with addresses or from a dossier.
Fields in letters are automatically filled in with content: Address fields such as form of address, name, first name, and address are mail merge fields. Information on the sender such as name, company, division, phone extension, and so on are saved as field variables.
You can create and edit Document templates for each type of CAS genesisWorld documents. This takes place in the window of the same name.
The integration with Microsoft Office enables you to create and edit documents in a familiar environment and then save them as document data records in CAS genesisWorld.
With e-mail campaigns, you send personalized newsletter or similar e-mails to several recipients at once.
You create documents for campaigns, for example, a form letter or an e-mail campaign.
With the settings, you define preconditions for creating versions and form letters, enter field variables, and select your favorites.
You can import documents to CAS genesisWorld or link data records with drag and drop.
You can transfer multiple documents quickly and easily at the same time via the DocumentPort.
With the distribution list data record type, you create recipient lists for form letters and e-mail campaigns. You just link the distribution list with the form letter or e-mail campaign.
